- Shipped an Intelligent Document Processing pipeline converting engineering PDFs to schema-constrained JSON: benchmarked open-source VLMs, paired LightOnOCR2 with a prompt-engineered LLM stage, and closed the loop with a verification database that learns from human corrections. On a held-out set of 100 handwritten, low-resolution, and complex-layout documents, field-level extraction accuracy went from 32% with the previous LLM-based pipeline to 80%, at 2.1 pages per second on an L40S with 100% schema validity.
- Built the team’s LLM eval harness: automated grading, adversarial probing, and red-teaming with Promptfoo, Garak, and DeepEval, plus a custom BinEval implementation that decomposes failing runs into specific failure modes. Adapted Genie into a synthetic document Q&A generation pipeline tuned for human-like questions.
- Trained a custom LiDAR segmentation architecture based on RandLA-Net and KPConvNeXt on approximately 3 million labeled points spanning transmission towers and conductors. On held-out validation data, the operationally important minority class reached 92% IoU against 98% IoU on the majority class — the metric that matters on a point cloud where overall accuracy is close to the majority-class baseline. Used minority-class focused sampling, focal loss, and class-balanced re-weighting; cut training and preprocessing time through caching and batched I/O; and mentored an intern through the project.
- Designed LLM evaluation frameworks that turn sprint outputs, PRs, and design docs into measurable signals for team feedback loops and leadership visibility.
- Running production LLM inference on vLLM tuned to real traffic patterns; researching quantization, speculative decoding, and serving topologies across vLLM, SGLang, and llama.cpp.

- Designed a robust pipeline to filter human-containing images and perform accurate object detection in utility environments. Improved detection accuracy by 15 percentage points and cut annotation time by 20% via a custom Label Studio workflow.
- Built a full SfM pipeline using COLMAP and OpenSFM to generate high-fidelity 3D meshes from 500+ high-resolution indoor images, completing reconstruction in under 6 hours.
- Integrated Gaussian Splatting and 2DGS techniques into the SfM pipeline enabling real-time (30 FPS) photo-realistic rendering. On comparable scenes, achieved an 80% speed improvement using a GLOMAP-based architecture, reducing processing time to under 60 minutes for complex scenes. Dockerized the full pipeline for scalable deployment.
- Created a custom font library using FontForge and generated 15,000+ synthetic images. Trained an OCR model capable of recognizing technical symbols and custom fonts across engineering documents.
- Developed end-to-end pipelines for annotating, training, and evaluating LiDAR datasets using ArcGIS and the PDAL library, enabling efficient handling of large .las files and complex geospatial operations.
- Trained and benchmarked PointCNN and RandLANet for vegetation encroachment detection. Engineered a conductor-vegetation intersection detection system using SciPy KDTree, achieving 80% accuracy in identifying hazard zones across utility infrastructure.
- Currently developing an iOS app using Gaussian Splatting for on-device/cloud 3D modeling, improving data collection and depth priors using iPad LiDAR.
